Every Tuesday and Wednesday during the school year, we serve free meals from 11AM-2PM for the students and the staff of Ridgewater C0llege. Last year's meals typically saw 120-140 students come through for each meal. 

A majority of these meals are provided by local church groups, or a few friends who just want to help out. When people volunteer to bring in food, it allows Amy and Jeff (the chaplains) to engage the students and minister as needed.

How's it work?

Groups bringing in meals will typically bring in roasters or crock pots with pre-cooked food and be ready to serve by 10:45AM. 

They then can help out as long as they want, but we finish serving at 2pm. We provide the serving utensils and beverages.

Serving 150 is a lot.

We know!

We've been serving meals for eleven years for students, and saw the numbers from to over 12,o00 meals serve pre-pandemic. We're currently around 8,000-8,500 meals served per year.

An easy way to prepare for these kind of numbers is to figure that a typical roaster will feed around 40-50 kids for most meals.

What food works for this?

Hotdishes, sloppy joe's, soups, pulled pork, grilling (we have a grill!), subs, pastas and a variety of other meals work really well.

The kids love the food, and we love to build community. Every day brings new opportunities to love these students. 

How do we sign up?

We have an online sign up via Sign Up Genius that will be available soon with dates to claim and serve.
